Nobody trusts Hyundai Genesis V8, mostly because of its shape and appearance.
Hyundai Genesis V8 come with a new idea of architecture, is built on an all-new rear-wheel-drive, boasts a near ideal 52/48 front-to-rear weight distribution for exceptional handling and more refined steering characteristics. The new performance rear wheel drive architecture is of particular importance due to the fact that this will be the first US Hyundai model to have it.
The Genesis sports car features a 52/48 front to wheel weight distribution. As a result, this car features some of the best handling to be offered by a medium-end sports car. As a added bonus, it features enhanced steering performance as well. The 2009 Hyundai Genesis also features ESC, or Electronic Stability Control.
This could very well be the automobile industry’s most important new technology. This is a new safety feature that aims to increase the driver’s confidence. This will be standard equipment in over 70 percent of the company’s new models.
V8-powered Genesis 4.6, it is a cheap car, luxurious one! Price range $33,000 – $42,000, EPA fuel economy estimates 17-18 MPG city, 25-27 highway. Isn`t too much for a car with 375 hp @ 6500 rpm. The horsepower produced by this vehicles power train is greater than that produced by such models as BMW, Audi, and Infinity.
Lambda V6 power train option, while not as powerful as the V8, still has a lot going for it. It features a 3.8 liter DOHC engine that offers 290 horsepower and 264 pounds of torque. The engine features an increased performance due to the addition of Continuously Variable Valve Timing and a new Variable Intake System. This can really help the engine breathe better when it is running at high RPMs. This all comes together to provide outstanding acceleration, passing performance, and fuel efficiency.
Tau V8 delivers an estimated 368 horsepower to fit the demands of performance-oriented consumers. Unlike many competitors and most premium sedans, it achieves this impressive power output using regular unleaded fuel – further demonstration of Hyundai’s commitment to value.
This powertrain combination will launch Genesis to 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds. The Tau produces more horsepower and torque than the powerplants found in Lexus GS450, BMW 750i, Audi A8 and Infiniti M45 and has more horsepower per liter than any of its V8 competitors. The Tau engine is built with flexibility for the future.
Hyundai has stuffed the Genesis with an alarming amount of high-level standard equipment, including a soft-touch dash, wood accents, Bluetooth, iPod hook ups, a heated and cooled driver’s seat, auto windshield defogger and rain-sensing wipers, an ultraviolet reflective steering wheel, power rear sunshade, electronic parking brake, proximity key and a push button starter.
Basically, if you were listing this car’s standard features out loud to someone, you’d need to take a breath somewhere in the middle. As tested, the GS 350 came fully equipped at $49,670. The Genesis showed up with a $4,000 Technology package and a $42,000 sticker. That’s a thick $7,670 price difference, in case you haven’t already made the calculation yourself.
A Lexicon audio system, the 8-inch display for the optional nav system that’s controlled via an Audi-like multi-media controller, a backup camera, an optional Smart Cruise Control system, XM satellite radio, HD Radio, a 30-gb in-dash hard drive, all available in one single car!
Hyundai moves successfully upmarket with Genesis, the company’s best car yet. Highlighted by a sporting character, lots of amenities, willing power and a smooth ride, the Genesis hits a sweet spot between more expensive European and less refined American sedans.
