Infiniti FX appears for the first time in the year of 2003. In that moment it looks just like from the surgery room. While the other constructors made all kinds of SUV whit quadric corners, Infiniti shows to the world a crossover in four doors that look very futuristic and came in a great color “Liquid Copper”.

Even painted in white, the Infiniti draw all the attention. Now, in the second generation of the car, the new 2009 Infiniti FX 50 gets a new engine of 5.0 liter V8 a new automatic gear box in 6 steps and a very large scale of electronic gadgets meant to keep the car on the road. The old Infiniti model is outrun in this moment; the new 2009 model was drawn in a most aggressive style. Even if the new model is little different in what concern the dimensions, the roof looks long, the wings are accentuated more and the lights are bigger.

The new “bronchia”, the C mast are thinner gives more character to the sides. Whit his new radical style plus an injection from what it means, Infiniti family the Infiniti  FX 50 is a new case of design for everybody. Throwing away the appearance, just for the moment, we focus on what it means to actually drive the new Infiniti FX 50.

Even if the old model was not a slow car, in fact it has the characteristics of a sport car; the FX 50 takes it even farther with a 390 HP thanks to the platform, FM, of the new crossover. Even if the engineers used in an excessive way light materials and aluminum the Infiniti FX 50 is heavier than the old model. Even so, the extra power and the new gearbox are capable of taken the car from 0 km to 100km in less than 6 seconds.

In the interior, the passengers will found leather seats and the dash board with a combination between aluminum and wood. The instruments on the dash board are highlighted and are “watching” us from behind the leather steering wheel that cams now whit two magnesium pedals. There is very much space for the driver and the front passenger but for the back passengers is not enough room, but still we can not complain because in the back they can choose from a DVD player of 9 inch and castile stereo wireless. The BOSE audio system of a very high quality includes 11 speakers and 2 subwoofers.

Interior is completed electronically made, including here the automatic tension of the safety belt and the seats who rearrange themselves according to the drivers. Of course there are some absences. Thanks to the new style the visibility is blocked by the C mast now that this is bigger and the rear mirror that is position is almost in the middle of the front windshield. Also the side mirrors are not electrically fold and there aren’t enough 12 V outlets. But once you press the sport button the V8 engine awakes.

The power is great and we can fell it right away when we hit the gas pedal. The automatic gear box is not as elastic as we aspect and the orientation is more of a sport one. Whit all of this we cant throw the new FX 50 in to the curves but we not get the effect that we where counting of.
The FX maintains the trajectory but after a couple of minutes on the steering wheel the driver is force to rock the car after all Infiniti FX 50 is not a sports car.
