With the launch of the new generation of Ford, the famous “Cobra” has returned.

If there are rivals on the planet for the most exotic European sports car from Porsche,  Aston Martin or Maserati, they called Ford Shelby and Chevrolet Corvette. The Ford Company presented the 2010 version of Ford Shelby GT500, the most powerful ever build.
The rivalry between Mustang and Corvette is a traditional one, and the apparition of the Shelby models was official declared since the 60’ as a response to the phenomenal Corvette. The main designer Carroll Shelby was supported by Ford to create a super sport version of Mustang, the name remains even today, even if there were bigger pauses, but Mustang still remains an American symbol of horse power.

The new Shelby GT500 draw his roots from the newest apparition from the Mustang and it caress the strongest engine ever putt on a model like this one, 5.4 liters V8 equipped with a supercharger. The maximum power reach 540 horse power and the maximum couple reach 690 Nm, and the compelling ones are waiting for the tuning to offer a version that goes beyond 600 HP.  The previous edition was upgradeable under the form of „Super Snake” at 605 HP, with warranty, and „over 725 HP”, without warranty.
Towards the previous version the new Ford Shelby GT500 has a new gearbox with gear 5 and gear 6 modified to offer a better management of rev so as the final rapport so it can use more precise the couple. The two discs of the clinch has been increased and there where changes in the materials, and now they are made from cuprum and fiber glass so the acceleration from 0 km to 100km takes only 4.1 seconds.

Intervention from the Ford teams is sense in the level of sounds, so they adjust the sound in the exterior and the sounds that can reach to the ears of the passengers. Even is the interior tries to keep the car in a sport way, we find a leather tapestry, the navigational system with vocal command or we find different luxury details. The model is available under the both body works Coupe and Cabrio.
The dynamics was also improved, thanks to the great tuning of the body realized by SVT and the new rims of 19 inches made from aluminum, and the tires „Goodyear F1 Super car” for Shelby GT500 coupe (the convertible model have rims of 18 inches).

The new Ford Shelby GT500 will be built at the Auto Alliance International Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, being programmed to reach the showroom in this spring.
