Lotus Evora is an exclusive sports car and the only car on the market that has the engine in the middle of the front frame. After 13 years from the launch of Lotus Elise model, the british are coming again in the tops with a complete new platform, the new frame of Lotus Evora is based on the concept of Lotus APX.
Named VVA (Versatile Vehicle Architecture) that way a whole lot of changes can be made for a very large scale of models, this way they reduce the costs of manufacturing very much.
If we analyze the Lotus Evora, we will find out that the front side is made out from an aroid of aluminum very dens and resistant, the rest of the structure is made from tubular aluminum.
The roof of the car is conceived from a high dens aroid and the auxiliary frame, where the safety belt is attached, has a very big importance in case the car rolls over. Also, the exterior panels are made from a composite material, high-tech, featherlike, but with a huge resistance. The body of the cars weights around 200 kilos, will the entire car exceed 1300 kilos.
At Elise, Exige or Europe the access inside the car was pretty tricky; the front seats can now accommodate 2 very tall persons. The interior of Lotus Evora reflects the same still as the exterior does. Simple lines and they think very good when they created the surface panels, without following the aggressive still like they did in the previous models.
The new Evora wants to give to the name “sport” a hole new meaning, but in the same time holding the british esteem. The seats are now cover whit very soft leather, and the audio system is high teak and the gadgets are not missing of course, with all of this the car shows a slightly air of luxury without giving up the race spirit.
The british company are not concerned only by performance, they installed a “green” engine with a gear in 6 steps and CO2 emission are under 225gr/m whit medium run of 8 liter/100km. And if we are still talking about the suspensions we can not overlook the suspensions. So the suspensions arms are independent and made from aluminum, the shockers are from Bilstein brand, and the springs from Eibach.
